The CEO confirmed on the Meizu online forum that the new Meizu 16 will have a higher screen-to-body ratio as compared with Xiaomi Mi8 and iPhone X. This suggests that Meizu 16 will have thinner bezels with the screen covering more than 85% of the front.
Meizu 16, Meizu 16 Pro: Rumoured Features
The base variant of the Meizu 16 will feature a 5.6-inch screen. Meizu 16 will have a flat screen instead of a curved one, a screen-to-body ratio of more than 90%, and they will be 7.2mm thin. Along with the 8GB RAM variant, Meizu will also launch a 6GB RAM model. Storage options will be 64GB and 128GB. The higher-end variant is supposed to feature either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage configurations. On the software front, Meizu 16 is considered to boot Android 8.1 Oreo-based Flyme OS out of the box.
As far as the imaging is concerned, both upcoming Meizu phones might feature a dual-12MP camera setups at the rear and 20MP selfie camera at the front. The base model is expected to come packed with a 3080mAh battery (8V, 3A), and the Pro variant could feature a battery capacity of 3600mAh. Both phones will be compatible with fast charging mechanisms, and on top of that, the Pro variant of the Meizu 16 is expected to feature 10W wireless charging. There’s will be no NFC on any of these phones if the information turns out to be true.
Meizu 16's higher-end variant might be christened as the Meizu 16 Pro. The smartphone is expected to come with 8 GB/6 GB RAM and 128 GB/256 GB internal storage options. The smartphone is expected to feature a bigger 6.1-inch display and should be fuelled by a bigger 3,600 mAh battery. The Pro variant will come with a 10 W wireless charging option, but might not feature NFC. The Meizu 16 Pro is expected to feature the same camera setup expected on the Meizu 16 and might also run on the same base Android version of its Flyme OS.
The official disclosure is that the Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Pro will get an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, that is interesting because this feature hasn’t yet gone mainstream and is a very convenient way to unlock the device.
